JANET(UK) is the education and research network in the UK, providing network infrastructure, broadband connectivity, domain registration, and a host of services for over 800 universities, research centers and institutions of further education in the UK. JANET(UK) also drives initiatives across a broad range of standards, anticipating the needs
of its scholastic client base.

JANET(UK) is sponsoring projects and investigating a number of use cases for IF-MAP. One such project involves an upgrade to the infrastructure used to enable the JANET Roaming Service (JRS), by which millions of students, faculty and staff can get network access when traveling at participating sites served by the JANET(UK) network. JRS is a participant in the International eduroam federation.
